2008.12.12 - Happy 12 12!

I removed the message board (already!), since it's not being used, and it's only increasing traffic from hacked computers and spammers. Besides, the Be-Pachi Music topic on Bemanistyle is already established, and serves its purpose.

Speaking of Be-Pachi Music, a long overdue update has finally been released! Plenty of changes to make it worth downloading I hope.

Finally, I'm planning on updating the site to look a little better.

2008.10.18 - Message Board has returned!

That's right, this site has a message board again! I've decided to give it another try.

It's using a different kind of registration process, so make sure to read the How to Register topic there.

This message board will most likely be the place for most future BMS events I host, but discussion about anything is welcome there also.

2008.10.14 - R.I.P. IIDX:TE III, and hello new BMS event?

Quite the surprise... DXSynergy (TE III organizer) posted an announcement on Outphase forums stating that the future rounds of IIDX:Tournament Edition III are cancelled.

The first round (beat 1) only had 2 entries, but I had a feeling that beats 2 and 3 would have attracted more people. I don't know. Personally I think it was the super-lengthy delay (2 years since the previous event), and the lack of advertisement (possibly due to sites' staff, but...)

Since it's over, I decided to upload my finished BMS songs to my BMS page. My beat 2 entry was 'Cohesion', and my beat 3 entry was 'Dark & Stormy'.

And now for some possible good news... I'm considering a small BMS event of my own (maybe hosted here) to give people a chance to enter the BMS songs they might have started.

It depends on interest of course, but I'll wait and see what happens.

2008.09.26 - IIDX:TE III beat 2 soon...

With the first division of the IIDX:Tournament Edition III BMS event over, I'm awaiting the start of IIDX:TE3 beat 2, the 'BGA Battle' of sorts.

While I'm waiting, I decided to enter the suddenly announced 24 Hour BMS event, a music compo-like event where people have only 24 hours to create and enter a song. I'm truly amazed and humbled by the quality of all the other entries... I wish I could channel some of their creativity!

My entry is titled 'The 23rd Hour'. It's a quicky Noisecore-type song, but turned out rather good I think. It's funny how this event's deadline provided motivation and inspiration for song creation.

In other news, I finally updated my BMS web page! Now it contains a better layout, and lists only songs I've made.

2008.08.18 - Site updates, BPM updates, and IIDX:TE3 starting soon!

It's been far too long since I've worked on my site, but it's happening.

The 'links' page has finally been updated, with links to sites regarding Be-Pachi Music, BMS song events and tournaments, and links to known sites of BMS authors who entered the IIDX:TE events.

And the next release of Be-Pachi Music will most likely be next week some time, with improved AVI support, a new theme, and a new play mode.

Also, for anyone who reads this, there's less than 3 weeks until IIDX:TE3 beat 1 entry registration opens... Get ready!

2008.07.06 - IIDX:TE3 BMS event is going to happen!

After some time planning, delays, changes, and some more delays resulting in more planning and changes, the third in the line of BMS song creation tournaments is a go!

There will be 3 divisions (names and rules to be finalized) in this tournament:
-Beatmania song remix division (It's what it is. Remix a song from any beatmania/IIDX/III game and make it into a BMS)
-Background Animation division (Create an animation or movie for a song)
-Free For All division (Make a BMS from any song not from a music game)

BMS entry registration will open on September 6th (Saturday), and close on September 20th.
BMS judging and impressions will begin on September 20th. End date not yet announced.

I'll have 2 entries ready to go, so that means I'll have to finally update my old BMS webpage.

2008.03.07 - Archive pages for IIDX:TE1 and IIDX:TE2 up

With the IIDX:TE3 BMS Event soon to be announced, I thought it was a good time to make a webpage for previous BMS events, to see how it's progressed since then.

I'll add an 'Events' link to the top later, but for now, here's the links to each page.

http://x-raise.cjb.net/bms_dl/iidx_te/
http://x-raise.cjb.net/bms_dl/iidx_te_ii/

I will hopefully have a few of my own BMS entries in TE3, I'm just waiting for the official word.

2007.12.24 - 5-Key is back in BPM!

After fixing what seems like hundreds of bugs, 5-Key BMS songs can now be played in Be-Pachi Music through the use of an option on the config window (BMS File Type).

Now I'll start making some new songs for it!

2007.12.07 - And a small BPM update

With a new version of Be-Pachi Music comes the first of probably several smaller bug-fix versions.

Also reminding myself to update this site sometime, and get some new content.

2007.12.01 - Dec.1, close enough! Let's release the update

After a small delay, everything seems good enough for release, so the new version of Be-Pachi Music is now available on the bpm page.

With this version, the 3D mode makes its appearance after a year-long hiatus. The 2D mode is included, but borrows much from the newer 3D mode, to keep the themes similar.

There's much more that has been added, implemented and fixed, so check the version history for the long list of details.

Enjoy, and I do apologize for the long wait. Future releases won't take 12 months, I promise.

2007.11.26 - Be-Pachi Music update to be on Nov.30

Major apologies for the extreme delay in releasing a new version of BPM. But my motivation has recently returned, and I've been working on an update for a few weeks now. Besides the requisite bug-fixes, I've designed a completely new theme (the return of the 3D mode!), and a new play mode (which will be in a following version though).

Everything's on schedule so far, and I'll (finally) update the BPM page on Friday.

2007.09.04 - Yay, free time! Let's finish the update

This summer has been cruel to me in terms of free time. But, now that I have a few days all to myself, the energy and interest are returning to me, so I'll try to finish up a new BPM release in the coming days.

Among other things and bug fixes, Movie BGA support will be included, as I've just now implemented it. Testing it for a while, then on to other things.

2007.06.28 - Far too long since the last update, but soon I hope

It's a combination of lack of time, energy and interest, along with real life. Maybe when I get some free time in the near future I can resume progress.

The BBS is down permanently, since it wasn't really used at all, spammers are starting to invade it, and I couldn't be bothered to remember the admin password for it.

2006.12.24 - Small BPM Update

Nothing really new on this site itself, although BPM has yet another update, featuring a little more efficient code and some more options added in.

Once again the old theme updates weren't finished yet, so once again they will be added to a future version (really!)

2006.11.14 - Be-Pachi Music now version 0.042a

Plenty of improvements over the previous version this time, although the promised implementing of certain features and theme updates had to be delayed (again).

Over-all file size is much smaller, yet the program should run much better, and the visuals have better quality.

2006.10.01 - BBS Message Board now up and running

With the sudden expiration of outphase's domain name (and no renewal?) comes a need for me to find a new message board for discussion about Be-Pachi Music. And what better place for a board than right here! Currently I have 2 boards made:

  BPM - Be-Pachi Music board
General - Everything else (for now)

Anonymous posting is currently allowed, and a decent index page will be made for the boards later.
I wonder what will happen to the IIDX:TE3 BMS contest, though...

2006.09.24 - Next version soon + Source

I'm still working on updating the old Be-Pachi Music themes (Currently the 3D 'BPM' theme), and also making 2 new themes ('Mini2' and 'Huge'), all of which will be bundled with the next version.

Also with the release of this next version (in a week or so, maybe 2) I'll also have the source code available for download.

Finally, I'll resume work on some older un-finished projects, and prepare a BMS entry for the IIDX:TE3 contest (Rate my song high please!)

2006.09.11 - And here's the big update!

Be-Pachi Music is now version 0.04a, and has many changes and updates. Its page has also been updated. I removed the old BPM Mini download from that page as well (Mini will get its own page later).

Also, a new song from the IIDX TE II BMS event has been added to the BMS page.

Maybe some more quick updates soon!

2006.08.13 - Small update now, big update soon.

I'm still working on the new version of Be-Pachi Music (v0.04a), but it's almost done. The internal code is almost complete, so almost all that's left is to make the new audio/visuals for the new theme. I still plan to release it (and the new version's source code) before the end of this month (I may regret saying that... The deadline is approaching fast!)

I'm starting to add in a constantly updated links page, because having only a few of my not quite high-quality BMS songs to play in Be-Pachi Music most likely isn't much fun :)

Also, I'm really bad at checking my e-mail, and to those who have sent me e-mails and never received a reply in a long time, I apologize. I have no excuse. However, a faster way to contact me is on IRC (#ss @ irc.x-raise.cjb.net... I need to add that page one day), or post a message on the BPM topics on the links page.

Next month I plan on re-making and re-organizing the Be-Pachi Music page, to make it less cluttered, and update those old old screen shots. After that, I'll start on other projects.
